Run the Streets is a running/mentoring program open to all youth from the ages of 12 to 18 in Washington County Oklahoma, through the Richard Kane YMCA in Bartlesville.
Sign up for Run the Streets and we'll prepare you to run a half-marathon within 14 weeks. We train three days a week including Tuesdays and Thursdays after school and Saturday Mornings at 7:30 a.m.
Run the Streets is no joke. 91 youth from the Bartlesville area have completed a half-marathon in the past three seasons with RTS.
Season Five begins on August 20, 2011 at Bartlesville High School and you'll finish the Route 66 Half Marathon on November 21, 2011, when you train with us. You don't have to be an athlete or a runner to begin the program.
We begin with an easy walk/run schedule and gradually work up to longer distances. You'll be surprised by how fast you get into shape.
Registration packets are available at the Richard Kane YMCA membership desk now or download the packet and physical exam form on the Season Four Kickoff Page. You can also register at the Kickoff Event at Bartlesville High School on August 20, 2011, at 9:00 a.m.
Participation in RTS is free!

Run the Streets is funded by a United Way Venture Grant and a grant from the Washington County Anti-Drug Network. Run the Streets has also been overwhelmed by the support we've received from the community and our mentors. Our mentors not only give of their time, they also frequently dip into their own pockets to provide for the program because they believe in RTS and are witnessing first hand the differences the program is making in the lives of our youth.
